NYE Look Book.

3 Days away from the new year and I decide to make a lookbook. HA. (how scary that we are so close to 2015). I took a motion graphics unit for uni last semester, where I learnt to use After Effects. I loved it so much, so I thought "why not do some more stuff like that?". Combine that with my interest in fashion and bam u got urself a lookbook.

I definitely think I'll incorporate more motion graphics into my future videos, I've just been working non stop so I've only had a couple of days to film, edit and put this together ;(

Nevertheless, have a watch and observe how awkward I am on camera haha.

Thrifting Tips & Finds.

Hey yall! I've been absent on this blog for a while with work and uni consuming my life for the past month. But I've decided to make a commitment to this blog, so I'll be posting fashion and design related things for the time being!
This past week I've visited a couple different thrift stores and thought I would share my buys. I've been thrifting for a while now and I'd say I'm pretty okay at finding decent items hidden in the mass of terrible, terrible clothes.  A couple tips I have for thrifting is to 1: look through all the racks - even if the rack isn't your size or gender. I've found great jumpers which I use as dresses in the mens section, while I find a lot of tops in the plus size section which I turn into crop tops.

2: You have to be critical.
When I find a potential piece, I always ask myself "Will I wear this a lot? How can I wear this?". The worst feeling is buying a piece that you tried on in store, thinking you'll wear it a lot but getting home and tossing it into your wardrobe never to be seen again. I've done that a lot. It sucks.

3: If you're a local, know your store!!
Sometimes stores have specials on certain days where items are cheaper (than the already cheap price). This way you can plan out when you go and get the most for your moola.

4: Pick, try, then Narrow.
I typically spend a long time narrowing down my items because I hate wasting time and money on something I won't use. Today, I initially had 10 items in my hands after my first way around the store. After trying them all on, I had 2 left. I think it's better to grab what you potentially could buy and try it on then leave it on the rack and go back to it when you're done looking around the store.

Well, there were a couple of tips I have for thrift shopping, hopefully they will help you on you thrifting adventures (?).
Below are a couple of items I bought from two different stores. Now, prepare yourselves for how cheap I got them. Be ready.

American Apparel crop top - $4.00
Nike T-Shirt - $5.00
AWH Top - $6.00

My heart skipped a beat when I saw how cheap the AA top was, oh my god. These items were hidden treasures and I know I'm going to wear them all throughout summer. I definitely recommend everyone go thrifting at least once in your life. It's not as gross as you think - a couple washes of your clothes and you're good to go. I hope I inspired you to thrift!

Thanks for reading y'all,

Niss.
